Melinda painted the Truth Clock when she began to receive emotional healing from trauma that had caused her to think poorly of herself. She realized that her negative self-image was filled with many untrue, negative feelings.
Melinda discovered that these lies ticked within her soul like a clock. As she healed, the truth of who she is began to form a new clock inside her soul. It felt good to finally start breaking free from lies and operating with the truth of who she is.
Although Melinda hoped the lie clock would be destroyed, it remains connected to her soul. However, it no longer controls her. Instead, she uses it as a testimony of where she has been. She did not add all the lies to the lie clock, nor did she include everything that replaced the lies. She used general struggles that people can identify with through her art. When things try to trigger those lies, she prays and presses onward with the truth.
Melinda hopes that this Truth Clock design will encourage others to heal and continue their healing journey.
